Rohnert Park!

Russian Orthodox Church on Geary Ave.

I went on a short walk this morning over to the Seacliff area, the ritzy section of the Richmond District. In the afternoon, I headed up to Rohnert Park to hang out with my old friends (see below).

Fire!

Fire at Fillmore and Steiner
After spending the morning with my friend Ruth, I walked over to the Fillmore area just in time to watch firefighters put out a two-alarm fire in a residential building at California and Steiner.

Jefferson Airplane and Grateful Dead!

Jefferson Airplane House
I decided to take some pictures today of some of the music houses in the Haight-Ashbury area, and so made my way to 2400 Fulton St. (Jefferson Airplane) and 710 Ashbury St. (Grateful Dead). It's nice to think of a bunch of hippies making music in these buildings back in the day (the sixties). They had some nice places!
I'm also still knocking out streets in the USF area - I think this project is going to go on forever!

The Loop One More Time

Rachele and I walked our regular loop today past Baker and Marshall Beaches, then through the Presidio. As usual, we solved all the problems of the world in about 2 hours, then we had lunch at a Japanese Curry Restaurant on Geary Ave.

Walk to City Hall

St. Ignacius Church at USF
I walked down to the City Hall area today, had lunch at a Brazilian Restaurant on Franklin St., and then walked home through the Haight Ashbury area on Page St. The sun came out in the city today, which was marvelous!

Marathon and Dore Alley!

Jon and I walked over to Golden Gate Park this morning to cheer on the runners in the San Francisco Marathon, and then this afternoon we headed on down to the Dore Alley Festival. Warning! - If you're squeamish about naked men, don't look at the pictures below! Dore Alley is a leather-bondage-gay man festival on Folsom Street and Dore Alley. I've been to this festival a few times, and each time I'm torn between feeling shock, embarrassment and self-consciousness. If you don't have a pierced penis and/or a leather g-string, you don't really fit in!
