Across the Golden Gate

Rachel at Cavallo Point

I had lunch today with Rachel at Murray Circle at Cavallo Point. It took me about an hour and a half to walk there over the Golden Gate Bridge - So many tourists to dodge. Rachel works at Murray Circle, so we got the royal treatment there - an amazing lunch. Luckily, Rachel drove me home afterwards, and I took a nap before going to the Giants game tonight.

Golden Gate Bridge

Golden Gate Bridge Shrouded in Fog

Rachele and I walked around 8 miles today through the Presidio, under the Bridge, across Chrissy Field, past the Exploratorium, and then through Pacific Heights and Laurel Heights. The fog was rolling in as we were walking, and by the time we got home, it was really socked in. Another typical winter day in the middle of the summer!

The Presidio!

Jon at the Presidio Golf Course

After dropping Jon off at the Presidio Golf Course (He hit a bucket of balls and practised his putting), I parked the car and walked through the Presidio for almost 5 miles.

I forgot my camera today, so these pictures are from my I-phone.

Debbie!

Debbie at Work
Yet another beautiful day in the city - We're on a roll! After stopping in to see Debbie, I walked for almost 11 miles in the outer Richmond. I did a lot of back and forth on the Avenues, and I'm happy to say I'm almost done with the Richmond District (Sunset, here I come!).

Sutro Baths

Rachele at Sutro Baths
Rachele and I walked down to the Sutro Bath ruins today and poked around, until Rachele got the word that she had to be at work early, so we hightailed it back. Another beautiful day in the city!
Sutro Baths opened March 14, 1896, as an extravagant public bathhouse envisioned and developed by the eccentric one-time mayor of San Francisco, Adolph Sutro. After working its way through many incarnations (Playland, 1960's ice rink, etc.), it burned down in 1966. In 1980, the property was sold to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

Dire Warning!

Ocean Beach

Jonathon Livingston
Today was ridiculously hot in the city, and all over California. We went from the dead of winter a week ago, to the 90's, and triple digits inland. There were thousands of people down on Ocean Beach tonight trying to escape the heat. It seemed like a community with people from all walks of life, all getting along and having fun.
